FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Is Tronix Energy my utility or my energy supplier?
Neither. Tronix Energy is an energy brokerage and authorized distribution organization. We help you compare offers from independent retail energy suppliers. Your local utility continues to deliver your energy, read your meter and respond to outages.
Can everyone choose their energy supplier?
No. Energy choice depends on your state, your utility territory, whether you need electricity or natural gas, and whether you are a residential or commercial customer. Even within a state that allows choice, some utility territories do not. Enter your ZIP code to see what applies at your address.
Will switching interrupt my service?
Switching suppliers does not change the physical delivery of energy. The utility keeps the same wires and pipes. A supplier change usually takes effect on a future meter read date.
How are rates shown?
Electricity rates are shown in cents per kWh and natural gas rates in the supplier's unit (for example, dollars per therm). We label whether a rate is supply-only or an all-in estimate. Utility delivery charges, taxes and other fees may apply separately.
Do you guarantee savings?
No. We do not claim savings. Whether a plan costs more or less than your current option depends on your usage, your current rate and market conditions. Review each plan's documents, including any Electricity Facts Label where applicable.
How does Tronix get paid?
Suppliers may compensate Tronix and its authorized partners when a customer enrolls. This does not change the plan price shown to you.
How do I become a Tronix partner?
Companies, brokerages and independent agents can apply on our Partners page. Applications go through review, agreement signature, compliance review and mandatory training before sales access is activated.
